From Expansion Joints, Wall Copings to Arches
One of the more common uses for polystyrene in the building industry is expansion joints which is a sheet of polystyrene which is laid down before the concrete is poured to prevent the cracking of the cement from contraction and expansion. The uses for polystyrene are endless and for house features polystyrene can be coated in a concrete which is extremely strong and durable and when given a smooth finish and a good coat of paint it looks great and lasts. Outside building decor, wording and artwork can also be done with polystyrene if you coat it with concrete or other water based hardeners.
